Inside the center one may find genuine Romanian food products and other Romanian original products.
As an example , within the center’s limits one may find a shop designed for weddings , a bookshop named after the greatest Romanian poet , Mihai Eminescu , a sweetshop that that sells a wide variety of Romanian baked sweets but can also provide assistance and products for special family occasions like weddings , birthdays ,baptisms and so on.
The center is situated right across Tiburtina railway station , the second largest in Rome, and lately has been largely visited by Romanians looking for national products but also by the Italians that want to get in touch with another nation’s culture.
Also functioning inside the center there is a small classroom where children may have the first contact with the universe of the Romanian language.
‘La Strada’ commercial center project has been realized by a Romanian company , Euro Etnic Italia founded in 2007 and which already operates two warehouses for the distribution of Romanian food products in the areas of Rome and Piacenza.
The center will become the core of the Romanian NGO’s activities in Rome. Our main goal is to make an “ agora “ of the Romanian community out of it. There will be organized different workshops ,seminars ,team buildings , press conferences , meetings with the main think tank’s representatives of the Italian civil society , all these happenings having as main objective to unveil and disclose the true European values of our community. We are confident that our new entry book and CD’s presentations , meetings with the authors , singers and other Romanian artists will be very successful and will be held on regular bases.
Italians walking about Rome’s downtown , the place where our center is situated, may enjoy right on the street in front of it , during the summer season , small culinary festivals presenting traditional Romanian products. These festivals will take place quite regularly throughout the weekends and will count with the participation of well known Romanian companies.
We are counting on approximately 25.000 monthly customers . This forecast is based on the immense popularity of the Tiburtina area among Romanians taking into account the around 25.000 of them daily pass through. The center is dedicated to the Romanian community in Italy and its opening around the 150th celebration of the Union of the Romanian Principalities and the 8th of March , the international woman’s day , we hope it will come as a true moment of unity and a new beginning for the numerous Romanians that have not been heard off yet.
